Marfa native Lupe Doporto Nuñez, 75, passed away peacefully at her residence in Odessa on May 18, 2019.
Lupe was born in Marfa to Candelario and Rita Doporto on August 30, 1943. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her door was always open to everyone.
Lupe was preceded in death by her parents, Candelario and Rita Doporto; husband, Enrique Nuñez; her two children, Norma and Lino Nuñez; and brothers, Martin and George Doporto.
Lupe will be forever remembered by her son, Jose Nuñez (Emma), daughter Christina Nuñez (Raul), Sister Azusena “Gugu” Nuñez, sisters-in-laws Florinda Doporto and Adelaida Valencia. Grandchildren, Enrique Nuñez ( Josie), Epimenio Nuñez, Robert Joe Valencia, David B. Valencia III (Zulema), Gabriel Valencia (Jessica), Emmalina Castelan (Albert), and Joseph Nuñez. Great Grandchildren, Devin Lara, Jaylee Nuñez, Analee Nuñez, Uzziah Nuñez, Alexxa Valencia, David B. Valencia IV, Xavion Carrasco, Mason and Jaydah Fazenbaker. Along with numerous niece and nephews.
Pallbearers are Enrique Nuñez, Epimenio Nuñez, Albert Castelan, Marcus Doporto, Mark Rubalcado, Larry Estorga, Justin Cortez, Dillon Digby, Matt Martinez, Anthony Campos, Tito Contreras, Johnny Ramos, and Stratton Smith.
The family of Lupe wishes to extend their sincere thanks to our family and friends who have reached out to us during this difficult time. We sincerely appreciate it. We would also like to give thanks to Home Hospice, Medical Center Hospital, Maddison Medical Resort and Albertson’s Market on 8th Street.
A viewing was the evening of Monday, May 20 at Martinez Funeral Home. Rosary was Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial was in Rose Hill Garden section of the Ector County Cemetery.
