Juan Nuñez Jr., 74, died peacefully in the early hours of November 5, 2018 in El Paso.
Juan was born October 9, 1944 in Marfa to Juan and Genoveva Nuñez.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Azusena Doporto Nuñez. They remained inseparable until the day of his passing.
Juan and Azusena lived in Odessa many years where he worked in construction and was a construction supervisor for 23 years. He began his career as a brick layer and carpenter at the age of 17, a trade he learned from his father, Juan Nuñez Sr.
Juan and Azusena “Gugo” lived in Marfa for 18 years before they had to leave for health reasons. .
He is survived by his wife Azucena; two sisters Helen Nuñez Calderon of Marfa and Josie Nuñez Madrid of San Angelo; two brothers, Frank and Mike Nuñez both of Marfa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juan Sr. and Genoveva Nuñez and his brother Robert Lee Nuñez.
Juan was quite a character and will be missed dearly. The family thanks everyone for their kind words and prayers. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa.
